Conference of the European Society of Women in Theological Research (ESWTR) "Translation - Transgression - Transformation", August 23rd to 26th, 2017

From August 23rd to 26th the seventeenth international conference of the European Society of Women in Theological Research (ESWTR) took place at the Kardinal-König-Haus in Vienna. The conference with the title "Translation - Transgression - Transformation" was dedicated to the subject of borders and their transgression and transformation. The coexistence of people with different religions is about setting boundaries as much as overcoming those boundaries through dialogue. In some lectures it became especially obvious how much the past also determines current relations between the religions and the view on the relation between the sexes and the position of women in the different societies.

The conference was organised by Agnethe Siquans, Professor at the department of Biblical Studies, and Regina Polak from the department of Pratical Theology held the opening speech.
