Internal RaT Workshop, September 3-6, 2021:
The last month of the lecture-free period was used this year by RaT to organize a workshop in a smaller circle and with selected guests for a group exchange and for internal team building. The venue was the beautiful Scuola Apostolica del Sacro Cuore in Albino, Lombardy, where from September 3 to 6, the current projects, including some doctoral theses that are about to be completed, were presented and discussed together.
We had the pleasure to welcome as guest of honor the philosopher Hans-Dieter Bahr, who taught in Vienna until his retirement in 2000. Bahr, whose work includes a philosophy of hospitality (see, for example, Die Sprache des Gastes. Eine Metaethik and Die Anwesenheit des Gastes. Entwurf einer Xenosophie), had thankfully agreed in advance to discuss with us a chapter from his book project Aktaion oder Die Wesenlosigkeit der Jagd, which is currently in preparation.
After two days of presentations and discussions, the workshop ended with a cultural excursion to Bergamo, where we visited the church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its wooden inlays designed by Lorenzo Lotto.
