Transdiciplpinary Conference "Living and Learning from and with Refugees" 19.-20.09.2017
The transdisciplinary conference „Living and learning from and with refugees“ took place on September 19th and 20th in Vienna. In the well attended Kardinal-König-Haus the question of positive narratives on migration was raised and new narratives and themes were elaborated from an interdisciplinary perspective, with an important contribution from the domains of theology and political science. On September 20th political representatives on EU-level – with lectures by Niraj Nathwani (European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights), Antoine Savary (European Commission, DG Migration and Home Affairs) und Josef Weidenholzer (Member of the European Parliament, SPÖ) - presented the legal and historical background of the right of asylum, the strategies of migration and integration on the pan-European level and concrete experiences with political and humanitarian work with people on the run.
